Partnership, not management
Taman Nasional Gunung Rinjani protects the mountain's forests, savannah, the Segara Anak caldera lake and the summit. It is managed by the Balai Taman Nasional Gunung Rinjani under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), and it sits at the heart of both the Geopark and the Biosphere Reserve.
The MIDAS Agency does not manage the National Park. Its role is to coordinate with the park authority: aligning planning, sharing a coherent public story, and making sure that trekking, research and community programmes inside and around the park support the goals of all three designations.
Trekking permits, routes and closures are set by the park authority. [VERIFY: link to the park's official booking and information channel]
